Aviation Law Students

ALAANZ is committed to increasing Australasian student involvement and participation in the Association’s activities.

The purpose of this page is to answer any queries you might have as to how you can become involved with the Association and make a positive contribution to the aviation legal community in the region. So do get involved! Your contributions will be rewarded by many chances to meet with and learn from aviation law’s top proponents and expert practitioners.

You may be a law student, a commerce student, or even a postgraduate. You might even be a student pilot with an interest in how the regulatory regime will impact your future profession. No matter what kind of student you are, you can benefit from membership and participation in ALAANZ activities

Student Co-ordinator Role

My role, as Student Co-ordinator, is primarily to encourage, facilitate and support all students with an interest in aviation law who wish to become involved with and/or learn more about the usage and practice of law in this area by:

  • Promoting student membership with ALAANZ;
  • Promoting attendance at ALAANZ seminars, branch functions and conferences;
  • Promoting student paper contributions to Aviation Briefs;
  • Distributing information about and encouraging entry in the Geoff Masel Aviation Law Prize;

My goals are similar to ALAANZ’s own stated roles, but with a purposeful direction towards encouraging all students to contribute to the Association and maximizing their association with members.

We Need You
I am currently seeking State Student Representatives to help me achieve and implement the goals set out above. If you want to take up some of the challenges then contact me with a view to making ALAANZ accessible and open to as many Australasian students as possible!
